Hey, friends. It's been a while since I've posted, even though I've been wanting to write, partly because I've got so many projects going on and partly because I feel like I'm sitting too much and when I have a chance to not sit at my computer anymore, I usually take it. One of my missions for June is to stand-ify my studio and workspace.
I started this piece several weeks ago with the intention of submitting it to the Botanica show happening at the Bedford Gallery soon. I have been really taken by the colors and sheer amount of flowers popping up here throughout this spring. They're everywhere! Roses, poppies, lilies, these awesomely BRIGHT fuchsia flowers I don't know the name of. Unfortunately I didn't finish the piece until a few days ago, so I didn't submit it since it's well past the deadline, but I'm happy I didn't rush it into something it wasn't supposed to be. I've been a bit cloudy lately about my art - the sketchbook project is both opening my eyes and closing them at the same time. If that sounds weird and confusing, trust me, it definitely is. So it feels good to finish a piece. I'm also taking a ceramics class right now that has me very inspired - so I think things are on track for some forward movement and clarity here soon.
I do hope to write more because I have so much to share with you. You can always keep up with me on Instagram where I post daily! :)
